General Information

NiBiTor, offers the latest in uber tweaking, gaining full control over the latest releases of supported GPU's. The latest release allows full manipulation over the Geometric Delta clocks of the latest video card technology found on supporting cards. All this info is about the current version of NiBiTor (namely NiBiTor v2.5a - 15 November 2005).

NiBiTor is now shipped with a small driver file, called nibitor.sys. It must be in the same directory as the NiBiTor executable, otherwise the Read BIOS, AutoSelect TimingSet and Test Timings functions will not work. And this might not work on Windows XP x64 Edition.

The initial NiBiTor menu exists out of three main sections, namely File, Tools and Info. Each of these will give some extra functionality to the program.

General BIOS Info

In the General Info you get a quick overview of important information about the BIOS. This will help you to identify certain things specific to the BIOS that you just loaded.

Let's have a look at all the details we can derive from the Info section of NiBiTor:

• File: Displays its name and path.
• Device: Shows as which kind of card BIOS the current file is recognized and handled.
• BIOS Version: Shows the internal version set in the BIOS, before v2.0 this was read from the Bootup Version String, but as that can be altered now using Boot Settings, its more reliable to show the internal version.
• Vendor: Shows as which vendor the BIOS file gets recognized and handled. Changing this could enable some vendor specific tools to work with your card.
• Date: Shows the date of the file as stored in BIOS.
• Product: Shows an additional info string about the card type the file is made for. This is also displayed in some NVDIA ForceWare drivers.
• Integrity Check: Functions as a quick indicator for the integrity of a NVIDIA BIOS file.
  • Status Green: When the BIOS checksum, size and structure are fine.
  • Status Yellow: When the BIOS checksum is not correct, but the size and structure are fine.
  • Status Red: When the BIOS checksum, size and structure are not correct (e.g. a corrupted BIOS).
  A checksum failure may occur if the BIOS was modified by hand without recalculating checksum, or some bytes in the BIOS were changed by faulty data transfer or storage. And a size failure is to occur likely when a wrong or outdated BIOS flash tool was used to read out the cards BIOS, or when the download of a file gets interrupted.
