The RadBox & Radiators

The radiator assemblies are none other than the ever popular Black Ice Pro heater cores. What is included with this kit is the RadBox assembly containing the RadBox and a 120 mm Black Ice Pro and a second Black Ice pro with a 120 mm fan. Both fans are factory installed and the Radbox, backing plate is pre-installed as well.

These radiators are perfect size for the huge garden hoses we are using for tubing. The spigots are 1/2" utilizing brass barbs that are installed at the factory, never the less putting a wrench to them to double check there fit is always recommended and we shall.

Here is the profile of the RadBox assembly, it offers plenty of mounting configuration and will fit just about a chassis making this external cooling system ideal since we are dealing with two rads. The flow characteristics of these bad boys are well known and have been around for quite some time and they do offer excellent performance with this kit.

Again a couple more shots of the RadBox showing of its profile the box is designed to draw outside air increasing performance by using cooler air to ventilate the radiator. The installation of the RadBox is quite easy and we will show you that later on.

This is the MCR120-FB™ (blue) Black Ice pro radiator with a single 120 mm fan mounted from ther factory, I decided to place this fan into the front drive bay and allow it to draw in cold air from the front of our Armor case, since it has a open air front bevel design.

Again we see the MCR120-FB with 1/2" brass barbs pre-installed from the factory and yes once again we checked the fittings to make sure they are tight. Like the RadBox assembly the fan is painted the metal flake blue.

Here are both radiators together, as we can see they are both identical, one is just part of the RadBox-Radiator assembly and one is a stand alone radiator with 120 mm fan. The RadBox is considered an external mounted assembly, while the MCR120-FB is more the internal type - at least for our needs anyway.
