Introduction

Func Industries has been a leader in competition mouse surfaces for several generations offering some of the trickest mouse pads to people like you and I. Continuing another award winning product line, Func Industries introduces the F-Series hi-performance competition mouse surfaces. The F-Series is available in two sizes, 11" x 14" and 11" x 17", and in two surface textures – the F10.S and F30.R. The construction on this pad incorporates the use of new space age Polycarbonates. Polycarbonates with its strength, impact resistance and transparency capabilities makes this thermoplastic ideal for texturing and integration into a surface well suited for optical tracking.

The F-Series Competition Mousing sUrfaces are available in your choice of two surfaces made popular by the award winning Func 1030 Competition Gaming Surface. Taking competition gaming surfaces to a new level, the F-Series interacts with your input device like never before, thanks to a new innovative texture designs. This design greatly effective over all mouse performance producing minimal drag and superior optical tracking.

The F-Series is constructed of high quality polycarbonate materials for excellent performance and tracking characteristics as mentioned before, however the actual construction of the F-Series is somewhat of a guarded secret. Visually the surfaces are almost identical, only touching the pads will you feel the differences between the peaks and valleys of the textures.

The competition pad also incorporates a low profile, textured synthetic rubber backing that exhibits exceptional traction characteristics on a desktop. Included is the Func cord clip to keep the mouse cord from obstructing mouse movements during use. This was standard feature on the fUnc 1030 that we reviewed a while back and has migrated to the F-Series products. The cord clip can be placed anywhere along the leading edges of the F-Series gaming surfaces, but Func recommends that you place the clip in the upper left corner for right handed users and in the upper right hand corner for left handed users.

The Func Industries F-Series mousing surfaces are singled sided, large format pads specifically designed for optical mice. While these surfaces will work great with ball mice, for the ultimate in tracking we recommend using optical input devices. We are going to peel these gaming surfaces out of their plastic skins and take a look at these pads. Also you may also want to keep the plastic packing, because you can use this as a transportation skin to protect it. Let's have a closer look...
