This is the Ultra/1800PCX connected to a DFI LANParty 925X-T2 LGA775 motherboard. The PCX5900 fits like a glove into our 16x PCI-Express slot. The PCX5900 is a single slot design allowing cramped cases a chance to utilize the adjacent PCX slots.
We are using a tech bench provided by HighSpeed PC to perform our burn in before doing a system install in our test rig. This allows us to install and setup the system and troubleshoot any issues before installing the hardware in its new home.
We are ready to power up the system, once we make the proper connections and fire this bad boy up we will run a burn in session for 45 minutes. We plan to run this rig in a stock configuration then do a all out benchmark to see the full potential of the PCX5900.

The Rig Configuration:
- Cooler Master Stacker Model STC-T01-UW Case
- DFI LANParty™ 925X-T2 Motherboard
- Intel® Pentium® 4 550 LGA 775 3.4GHz CPU
- Corsair TwinX2 XMS2 Pro 675MHz DDR2
- Antec Neo Power 480watt Modular PSU
- Gainward PowerPack! Ultra/1800PCX "Golden Sample" PCX5900
- NVIDIA ForceWare 66.81 Beta using default install settings

The single slot design is lightweight and its operation is hardly noticable. The PCX5900 runs off the pcx bus power allowing no need for a external power source for this particular PCX card. Having been said this is not to be confused with a slower performing card as one might suspect.
The PCI-Express slots are easily accessible using the single slot PCX5900. Here we have plenty of room for the use of the extra PCI-Express and PCI slots.
The "Golden Sample" Ultra/1800PCX is a very thin design which is a good thing in our case as we have only about 1/8" clearance from the DDR2 locking tabs.
The motherboard population will not be a problem for the "Golden Sample" Ultra/1800PCX. As you can see in these pictures the ram sockets was the only clearance issue we found, which isn't really an issue at all when you consider the close tolerance design standard that the PCI-Express bus system facilitates.
During the evening and low light situations the "Golden Sample" Ultra/1800PCX glows a brilliant red color from its red light emitting diodes. During the day the led's are suttle and dim, but after the lights are out, look out, its bright!
