Featured Game BenchMarks

The game benchmarks are going to be out of the box testing. I have started a new trend in benchmarking by providing "Out of the box results" this means, no over clocking or over volting was done to the SLI-DR or the two GPU's used to test the board. These results are also an average based on the FRAPS benchmarking tool, so results will very but none-the-less these are the results and not meant to be taking as the best performance, but as averages sampled during game play.

The SLI-DR runs these games with plenty of room to spare and runs great on this configuration. I used the default settings for both video card. SLI is definitely pumping out some better scores over the single card 6800 Ultra configuration, we are getting approximately 10-18% better performance using SLI to run the same game bench samples. I am not going to waste your time with commentary on the game bench marks as sometimes the best way to express something is to show it, so I loaded up FRAPS and did a series of both single card and SLI mode and here are the results...

On an ending note, the SLI configuration is a faster setup over the single 6800 Ultra, this is rather an attractive deal, as the Gainward cards are showing a definate improvement over standard 6600GT's. It goes to show that Gainward's GPU's and DFI's SLI-DR run very well together. It is amazing how close these cards perform in a standard default, out of the box configuration. I can emagine these averages would go up significantly with some heavy tweaking. Which this board can handle some serious over-clocking, we proved that with the Mushkin review with the system at 250MHz.

Anyway, the games benches are definitely above average for this system test bed and its even better in some cases, I can definitely say, with the two 600GT's from Gainward, we really had a great performance increase for less than the price of one 6800 Ultra. In the end it looks like both configurations offer almost the same performance with the SLI configuration actually giving a better 3D experience between the two configurations.
