The AMD Athlon 64 Socket 939 CPU
Getting on with the central processing unit or CPU as effectionately known, this is the power plant that will power our DFI LANParty nF4 SLI-DR. This is the AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (Winchester core). The AMD Athlon 64 is capable of features like 3DNow!™ Professional technology and support for SSE2. Both 32- and 64-bit applications can run simultaneously and transparently on the same platform. Our Athlon 64, will be running at 2200 MHz (11 x 200) 3500+ under default settings. The CPU is based on the Winchester S939 core clocked with a D0 stepping. The multiplier can be set to run from 4x to 11x and runs at 11x at default. 68.5 million transistors are under the hood, along with 512KB L2 Cache, based on the 90 nm, 11Mi,CMOS, Cu, SOI process. Maximum power consumption comes in at approximately 67.0 Watts under full load.

As you can see, this Athlon64 3500+ is based on the "CBBFD" core and was built in week 41 of 2004. Has a PR rating of 3500+ and should provide plenty of horse power for our test rig. We will give you generalized processor specifications to speed up the process and get us to the testing phase.
Let's take a look at this CPU.

This CPU is a retail box package, complete with factory heat sink and fan assembly along with the Athlon 64 3500+ CPU. We went retail so we could utilize the factory cooling system included in the retail box, for our burn in period that we will induce to the CPU and motherboard for 72 hours. Once we burn in the system we have several other cooling options available to us.
Other Specifications
Package Type: 939 Pin uOPGA
