Final Thoughts:

The XGI Volari V8 is an excellent value card for those who seek an alternative in price versus performance. The Volari V8 is well suited for the business computer and our value customers such as home business, corporate office and the entry-mid level gamer. The card can almost be placed in between the entry and mid level performance for less than half the price of mainstream cards on the market. XGI shows an impressive and promising future with such a great alternative for those who do not seek or have a need for $500.00 mainstream video cards. XGI has a strong market with corporations that require a low cost solution in a business environment.

The 2D performance is outstanding and delivers enough power and performance for civil engineers and CAD designers, as well as administrative duties in todays work force. These cards as also well suited for the educational and government agencies seeking value, compatibility and user convenience. We can call XGI the under-dog of graphics solutions. Having been said the 3D performance is on par last years mid-level offerings and even better than the 6200 TurboCache series for approximately half the price.

Our experience with the XGI Volari has been perfect, we had no compatibility issues, no hangs ups or issues in running this card. We have had an extended time period to evaluate the card with our Intel 865 test bed and have no complaints for the segment for which is was designed.

MVKTECH.NET recommends this card for corporate, government and educational environments as well as the 3D gamer. With XGI products you are gauranteed the best bang for the buck out performing todays entry level solutions for a fraction of the price. XGI is working on there next generation of cards that promises to bring even better value for performance and we cant wait to test there latest cards that have debuted at Computex this year. Stay tuned to XGI, there are definately good things to come.

Pros:

  • Better than entry level performance for fraction of the price
  • Very suitable for corporate solutions seeking real value
  • 3D performance is better than current entry level offerings by competitors
  • Excellent customer & technical support
  • Outstanding pricing segment
  • Great alternative graphics capabilities

Cons:

  • N/A
