XGI, the Taiwanese graphics chip maker, wants to return to market with a stronger family of products. This time, XGI is talking about its chip codenamed XP47, a native PCI Express thing that will have support for Pixel Shader 3.0.
XGI's XP47 is PS 3.0
We all know that Shader 3.0 will be a long time with us and that we will be stuck with it until 2006 and possible the introduction of Longhorn. It is due to arrive around six months from now. CeBIT?
Bear in mind that you should expect nVidia and ATI to aim for their NV50 and R520 aka Fudo introduction at the same time. Yet another nasty challenge for XGI. |
