Today I started editing my original bios for higher clock speeds and voltage. also changed the latencies and mem timings as mentioned in the guide, the only thing i want to know when changing the mem stuff, what do these numbers mean? Like when changing the volts or frequencies, its always a conversion of the value you want....but with the mem stuff, i really would like to know what that nice 28bit digit or the other eight 8bit digits mean!? ...
Thanks for the appreciated comment !
Don't be too concerned about the 28 bit timing string values as they are not easily converted to anything that would be meaningfull in the normal understanding of memory timings. Suffice to say that the best values for any particular card will mainly depend upon memory chip type (manufacturer) and NS rating. And my guide identifies some typical values that can be tried.
As for the 8 bit latency string, it is only important to know that the best string value for a 128 Mb card is "07 00 0F 40". And "07 03 0F 40" for a 256Mb card.
