That's probably the best thing you have decided to do. Flashing cards from one manufacturer to another (cross labeling) and flashing for performance gains is really a hit and miss situation. Cross vender labeling and changing all these parameters for such small yields in performance is just not worth the over all hassles it creates and the legal issues that can arise from doing so.
Plus it gives all the scamers in the world a means to cheat people over retailing a BFG card as Gainward or some fool will try to sell someone a 6800Ultra on eBay when its really a 6800 standard, undermining the very purpose of flashing was geared around, BIOS is only going to be around for a short time to come and then everyone will have to start the sad singing and slow dance routine and move on. Every manufacturer out there is aware of all the vender-relabeling going on and you can bet your life when you least expect it, those multi-million dollar companies are going to protect themselves at the cost of this very ordeal!
