Well that is certainly something you can try cause quite some Radeon X1650 AGP cards did have issues and with some BIOS update that was somehow resolved. But I would first see with ASUS support if they won't have a newer BIOS that will solve your issues. Cause that is always better. And to backup your original BIOS just use the standard tools ATIFlash etc, or use GPU-Z which will work from within Windows to take a backup.
