Gigabyte GeForce 8800 GT, but 256MB and PCI Express fails? - 2008/09/06 19:23
Hi all, this is my first post and im glad to found you guys, I've found a lot of helpful topics here. Can someone help me? I have an ASUS A8V-XE motherboard, and Gigabyte GeForce 8800 GT 256MB version. I read a lot of posts about flashing the video card with a Gen1 BIOS, and I did it. I tried with a lot of BIOS files, like the ASUS Gen1 and the Gen1 BIOS from EVGA and none of them work. When I flash the card with those BIOS's the card starts, but I get thousands of artifacts and rare numbers on the screen, so I have to blindly flash back with the original BIOS file.
If someone could help me changing my original BIOS file into Gen1, I would be much thankful. I already tried with the NiBiTor software but the option to set Gen1 or Gen2 is not enabled, so I don't know what to do. I'm flashing the card using another computer cause in my PC it doesn't even start, just beeps. The original BIOS of the card is attached. Thanks.
