Re:Safe overclock of GeForce GTX 280 card with stock cooler? - 2008/07/07 18:37 I have read review that could do 700/2450MHz and I try the same clocks with my GeForce GTX 280, but upon running 3DMark Vandage, in the second graphics test, the driver crash, but successfully recovered as Vista reported and so, I can't overclock my ASUS GeForce GTX 280. In Windows XP, I have no problems, although 3DMark06, gave me less points, meaning 11180 marks overclocked and 12890 marks at stock setting.

I've tried with lower clocks, but never pass even the test in NVIDIA control panel, performance tab. I also tried to find optimal clocks, again with NVIDIA control panel, performance, it gave me 742MHz core, 2584MHz memory and 1671MHz shader clock. And although the card works without problems, 3DMark06 again gave me lower performance and so I return to stock clocks and I just leave it this way.
