GeForce 9800 GTX, not detecting 2nd of multiple displays? - 2008/06/17 05:51
I am having a problem with my new XFX GeForce 9800 GTX 512MB card. Only one monitor is detected at any given time, and only on one port. Both monitors work and are connected using DVI cables. If I power the computer off, and than plug in one DVI cable into either connection it will power on and detect the monitor, however if I plug in the 2nd monitor cable into the other connection either while powered on or off, it will not detect the 2nd monitor. I also have the latest drivers for the GPU.
Both monitors are functioning properly and the card works on both slots. However, the card will not work with both slots at the same time. Both monitors are identical ViewSonic 21" LCD monitors. I am really stumped as to why it is not working, I have been tempted to see about backing up the BIOS on the card and re-flashing but I don't know if that would help or cause more problems.
