Luckily I avoided all the problems with the 7900GT and got an X1950 pro instead, with its own problems  My 9600GT has been running flawless though so I'm happy. I doubt I'll be upgrading for a while as I haven't been playing alot of games recently.
Any update on your problem Firewalk?
