Well you did it the hard way which can indeed lead to issues as the ATI BIOS's are not the same for all the cards even with the same chipset. The easy way was to add the correct ID of the graphics card in the driver file whcih controls the recognition of the graphics card. Well I hope someone can help you with the BIOS, though if you have the original BIOS you could try to first erase the EEPROM and than to reflash with the original BIOS...
