Re:GeForce 8800 GTX, flash towards Ultra and become too hot? - 2008/05/04 11:54

I checked with ATITool and it's arround 55-60°C temp when I do find artifacts it will hang after 10 seconds and I see a lot of colours and my mouse becomes a cube with colours. As mentioned it is not because the flash is okay that the card will be okay. Before you flash to any higher BIOS, you always need to first overclock the graphics card to those higher speeds and check if it can take it or not. If it can't take it, than it makes no sense to try the flash as it will certainly cause artifacts. And as you might know artifacts are the worst thing for a graphics card as that means some permanent damage is happening. So flash back to the original GTX BIOS and see how good you can overclock it with the original BIOS first.
