Re:Flashing a GeForce 8800 GT to SSC speeds, is it possible? - 2008/03/22 02:34
Hello there. Alright, I got everything running now. Right now, I have an EVGA e-GeForce 8800GT 512 MB running at these speeds with the Akimbo cooler, and the latest Akimbo BIOS. Which means it runs at 704MHz core and 2000MHz memory with a shader of 1920MHz. With RivaTuner, if I set the fan speed to 72%, noise levels are more or less the same as with 32%, and temperatures after three hours of stable, artifacts free playing of Crysis is just 64ºC.
While I'm not experiencing any issue, I'm quite concerned about the shader clock. So, my question is, do you think it is too high? Do you know more or less a safe value? I plan on having my card for at least two years... Thanks in advance.
