GeForce 8800 GT and GTS, both 512MB and up for SLI mode? - 2008/03/04 02:25
Hi all, fry's has an uber sweet deal right now on BFG GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB but I already have an EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GT 512MB. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether it's possible, via some kind of BIOS modification, to get these two cards working in SLI mode if I was to buy the GTS. Might it be as simple as flashing the GTS with a GT BIOS, or?
I'm hoping to get a for sure kinda answer, like someone who's personally tried everything to make it work, and couldn't, or hopefully could. I know the performance would be just like two GeForce 8800 GT', and I understand it may seem kinda wasteful of the GTS power, but heck where am I gonna find an overclocked GeForce 8800 GT with upgraded cooling for $229 anyway? Who cares about a little waste when it's at that price? Thanks for your input...
