I'd say mobo chipset ,from my experience,try the cpu in another board, i've had that happen and the board turned out to be the culprit.....hope its just your board.
mobo or memory are usually the weaker links in system,and mobo has most places to fail,cpu maybe toughest i'm told.it has built in protections some you can override some you can't.way overvolting ?,my guess wouldn't even post,especially if temps are not an issue,
