Well I planned to get a ATI Radeon X1600 PRO 512MB, PCI Express x16, planned to build my own computer by Christmas time. Is this card going to be upgraded to DirectX 10? And is it possible to get DirectX 10 without running Vista? I suspect Wista going to have a lot of bugs like XP did when it came out. So wih a simple yes or no you someone answer these two simple questons...
Do I need a new card to run DirectX 10? Will the 512MB ATI Radeon X1600 PRO be upgraded to DirectX 10 standards? What advice do you have for a stubborn friend of mine who wants to spend $150 on a DirectX 9.0 card so he can play BattleField 2142 and is going to end up spending $200-$350 more when DirectX 10 comes out? I keep telling him to wait, but I need some expert advice to help me out.
