Re:AMD Athlon X2 4200+ at 2.895GHz, but not stable... - 2006/10/31 12:51
Well, 47°C idle temp at minimum CPU fan speed is good enough, 47°C idle is at 1442rpm from CPU fan, at 2636rpm CPU fan speed temp goes down to 35°C to 38°C, good enough as such high voltages. You have an AM2 , it gives enough pages at the whole internet and on there you see that you can clock an AM2 a good thing higher than an Socket 939 processor.
This Athlon 3200+ AM2 with DDR2-1000 ram was at air cooling with 3GHz stable at a 48h run of prime, a looping benchmark and other things. This week I get 3 new air coolers and see what I can get for temps with that cooler. Cause the CNPS9500 isn't so good like a Scythe Infinity or so. So I will look what I get for temps with each of these coolers with the heat spreader, and is that not enough, I cut off those fucking heat spreader from the core.
I ordered a Vapochill Micro Extreme Performance, Scythe Infinity and a Noctua NH-U12F, and 2 new tubes from Coollaboratory's Liquid Pro. I love those thermal paste...
