TV Defaulting to NTSC problem - 2006/10/12 14:39
Hi all,
I've got an Abit 9550-V which 128MB (which appears to be almost exactly reference design). My problem is that it defaults to NTSC in text mode and I live in a country where we use nothing but PAL.
I've attempted to dump the bios and using both ATITool and RaEdit. Every time I open that dump up in anything (including atiwinflash) it claims 'Bad Checksum'.
I pushed on ahead anyway and tried RaBit to modify the default tv type to PAL. I then flashed this back to the card using atiwinflash. To verify it worked I then dumped the image back off the card and reopened it to confirm the setting had changed. It had. Unfortunately it still boots in NTSC!
I also tried using RaEdit to make the change, incase one program was wrong.
The next thing I think I can try is getting *another* bios and modifying it. Only I have no idea what is appropate for my card. One of the tools reported the memory ix 16x16 (which is not the standard 8x16 it seems, so bios'es are hard to find).
The memory on the card is: Promos V58C2256164SBT5 16MX16 DDR1 200MHz TSOP-II 66 RV350LE
Any help appreciated. Thanks
