Gigabyte GA-965P-DS4 mainboard question? - 2006/08/31 10:38
I just bought a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS4 motherboard with Core 2 Duo E6600 processor. I have two questions if someone knows something about, please answer me. The board has a 2x4 CPU power connector. Do I have to connect them both for the Core 2 Duo processors or just 1x4 it's okay? Also the board has an extra VGA power molex connector above the DIMM sockets. In the manual it is called PCIE_12V (Power connector). Do I have to connect it or just the 6-pin power connector on my GeForce 7900 GTX is okay?
In the manual it says, the PCIE_12V power connector supplies extra power to the PCIE x16 slot. Connect this connector depending on your system requirements. Please anyone help me as Gigabyte support it's a little bit slow and I want to set up my new system this weekend. Thanks!
