Radeon X1800 XT CrossFire Not Available At Launch - 2005/09/21 22:00
According to sources, the Oct 4th launch of the R520 will not include the Radeon X1800 XT CrossFire Edition as it will be available at a later stage. ATi is hoping that TSMC can improve the yield of the 24 pipelines version and one method is to have a higher K gate oxide. This implies that ATI is still hoping and trying hard to get a 24pp R520 out and it could be Radeon X1800 XT PE. Everything is still speculative at this point of time and I believe ATI isn't even sure themselves because fabrication of the cores is left to others' hands.
