MSI Radeon RX800 (PCI-E)... - 2005/09/04 22:46 Hi,

I have been quite lote time reading this site, and finally came with a good question. Well I have in my hands a MSI RX800 TD128, and the specs of this card are...
- Chip : R430 - Pipes : 12
- Memory : 2.0ns - 256-bit - DDR1
- Core speed : 392MHz
- Memory speed : 350MHz

I think (and hope) that this card will run better than a GeForce 6600 GT or a Radeon X800 GT. So I tested on a 3DMark03 and get 10770 points (with the GeForce 6600 GT was 10090 points).

Now everything is good, but I'm really making upgrades on my PC to run the better way the upcoming Quake 4, so I tested both cards on Doom 3 (for now), but in this game I obtein just 80 fps with the Radeon X800, and 94 fps with the GeForce 6600 GT.

Is there something wrong with the X800? Or there is some BIOS flash that could give me and extra overclock to this card, cause the memory are at 2.0ns, but I can't pass beyond 430MHz on overclocking.

I checked several places on internet looking some info about de memory, but on the most part of then it says that the memory are DDR3, I also check with Everest and says the same thing...DDR3. On the package box says clearly DDR1...

How can I be sure of this? Oops I write a lot after all.
Well any tip would help, thanks!
