Strange install problem, Help!! - 2005/08/22 14:49
Ok, this started when I decided to format due to a virus that wouldn't leave my system. I made a custom nForce driver, combining the v5.10 drivers and v6.66 IDE/Audio drivers. It installed fine so now onto the video card which is a Connect3D Radeon X800XT PE. After the initial install and restart the driver installation was finishing and right when it gets to the Rage Theater driver the system refreshes to a black screen and their she sits. Thinking something was wrong with the nForce drivers I uninstalled them and cleaned the system with Driver Cleaner and RegSupreme.
Installed the v5.10 drivers alone and tried installing the display drivers again. Same thing so I decided to format thinking something from the custom driver was sitting on the system still and creating problems but again it gets to the Rage Theater driver and refreshes to a black screen. I was getting so pissed and when this happens I try anything to make what is pissing me off work.
I flashed the card to a PowerColor Radeon X850XT PE AGP card and to my suprise everything installed just fine, minus the small display corruption. I then flashed the card back to a Connect3D Radeon X800XT PE and again the refreash and black screen problem. I then formatted again, installed the v5.10 drivers, and tried the display drivers again. Same problem, refresh and black screen.
Please! If anybody knows what is going on let me know. I also have tried the Catalyst v5.7 and v5.6, and Omega drivers; but no luck still.
