Re:The Ultimate Water Cooler Project... - 2005/02/24 20:16 Leak stopped the big results...

Well I could not give you the temps before I started the project as the project was done with all new components that had not been tested with a normal heatsink and fan.

PC Spec is as follows...
- AMD 3000+ 64Bit 939 Winchester
- Asus A8N-SLI Non Deluxe (BIOS 1002-003 Beta)
- 2 x 512MB Corsair PC3500 Platiums CAS 2
- 1 x Asus 6600GT Extreme PCI-E (SLI to come soon)
- 1 x Maxtor Plus 10 160GB SATA
- 2 x Maxtor Plus 9 80GB EIDE

According to the motherboard BIOS this is my results, I don't know how good they are because I have not seen what other AMD 3000+ 64Bit 939 Winchesters run at so I would like to hear from you guys to let me know if these are good results.

At idle it shows 26°C.
And under load this rises to 29°C.
Motherboard temp is 28°C.

I calculated that the Danger Den is pump around 800 litres per hour and not 1200 litres due to loss in the piping. This empties the 18.5 litres approx 43 times per hours amazingly it's silent in operation.

I have not yet attempted an overclock of the CPU. I am waiting for the system to be complete with a second 6600GT in SLI and an additional 1GB of ram plus 3 more Maxtor Plus 10 160GB SATA. At the moment she is benching at 3522 under 3DMark05.

Overall I'm very happy with the results so far. I'm thinking of getting the gas refilled in the compressor as the exchange radiator is just warm and not hot. A friend of mine who repairs fridges told me that it should be very hot to touch if the gases inside the compressor are good, so he should be coming soon to refill it for me and i will post the results of the temps after the refill is done.

I will leave you with some more pictures...
Thx for listening StOrMtRoOpEr.

Please ignore any spelling mistake as im dyslexic I had to ask the misses how to spell it...

Re:The Ultimate Water Cooler Project... - 2005/02/25 01:06 Rock-n-roll! Cool man thanks for sharing, thats a nifty lil project... Great idea too, cold water on tap anyone? Or should I say CPU? Hehe

You might be interested in a product called T-Ban or T-Balancer, by mCubed, this thing monitors water temps, water flow rate, all kinds of sensors are inlcuded. It gives loads of information in real time under windows environment in real time...

Re:The Ultimate Water Cooler Project... - 2005/02/25 12:28 Great job! The water cooler was a really good idea too not to mention that now you and the mrs have a good place to gather around and discuss the latest episode of your favourite TV show and make sure to tape up some Dilbert strips while youre at it.

Anyway, when that fridge unit is working that water is really cold, I mean like just a couple of degrees C, I'm sure those temps will drop even further once you get it going properly. Nice going!

Re:The Ultimate Water Cooler Project... - 2005/02/25 20:23 Thanks for the feedback and info Fury. Im currently looking at mCubed various options available and let you know what I decide to go with. Here is the GPU-Memory Water Block I'm going with for the system.

Made by: Aqua-Computer
Model Number: AquagraFX6600
Aqua-Computer - AquagraFX6600

Mmm £50.17 inc vat each. Another £100.34 just on 2x water blocks, the price of this project is slow creeping up. Doh...

Re:The Ultimate Water Cooler Project... - 2005/03/04 17:14 just to keep your intrested in the project. i done some overclocking with the CPU last night and here are my results

Bare in mind that the CPU is a AMD 3000+ 64 Socket 939 Winchester and the Motherboard is a Asus A8N-SLI Basic (NON-Deluxe) Bios Version is 1002-003 Beta.
ForceWare driver 75.90 Leaked Beta

I started of low as you do and got the system to complete 60mins of 3d Mark 2005 without any problems at the following settings

Voltage was set to max @ 1.685 Volts but Wcpuid should it as 1.55 Volts!

The PCI Lock function is not working correctly with this beta bios as it picks up the ram as PC266 (266Mhz and not PC3500 (433Mhz). So the ram timings could not be messed around with. I had to leave them on auto detect. Very time i tried to change the settings the system refused to post.

Hyper Thread Set to Auto
Ram and all RAM Settings set to Auto
Voltage @ 1.685Volts
295 fsb @ 9 x
= 1800 @ default and 2655Mhz Cpu Overclocked
thats a 45% Overclock

Cpu at idle has jumped to 35 degrees and under load is now 38 degrees

i will post some pics later

Re:The Ultimate Water Cooler Project... - 2005/07/16 04:08 Lo Guyz. Just a little update to wet your taste buds. I will be doing a full update this weekend of the project.

Got the second Asus Geforce 6600GT Extreme and the system is now running sweat. But if you are thinking of building a SLI system dont buy the Hiper Type R PSU as they are not upto the job. Had to run out today and get a enermax 600 Watt as the Type R kept powering the system off when the second card was fitted. The enermax is rock solid on the voltage rails here is the new spec of the system and the 3d Mark 2005 Bench Mark.

Amd 3000 64 Winchester @ 2478Mhz 9 x 275fsb (Unable to Hit 2.7ghz with this Bios thinking of going back to Bios 1008 Loss over 200Mhz with this bios
Asus A8N-SLI (Standard) Bios 1010.002 Beta
2 x Asus Geforce 6600GT Extreme's @ 570/1200. (Still stock coolers)
2 x Corsair 512mg PC3500 Platiums at 400mhz
4 x Maxtor Plus 10 HD raided (stripping)
1 x Liteon 52 x CDR
1 x Pioneer 109
3 x System fans (As going to SLI increased system Temp and Motherboard Temp by all most 8 Degress
1 x Iceberq Copper Heatsink and fan Modded to fit North Bridge as the stock one is pants and causes overheating and system crashes. (Rock solid Now)
1 x Custom DDR fan (Used a old Intel P2 CPU Housing).
1 x Enermax 600 Watt EG701AX-VE(W) Power Supply (110% better than the Hiper)

OS Windows XP X64 Volume Licence Key Edition.

Forceware 77.72 X64 Leaked Beta

Nforce 6.66 Leaked Beta (Do Not Install the Nforce Audio driver on the Asus A8N-SLI Standard or Deluxe Version as its the wrong driver. Download the correct one from Asus. The Nforce one will install and look ok but you will use 100% Cpu power when using Teamspeak or Media Player which will cause the system to hang and force a reboot. Took weeks to figure this one out. Plus the system now boots with 1/4 of a bar on boot up. Where as if you install the Nforce Audio it takes about 8 bars.

Audio driver: Realtek_AC97_64(WHQL) 5.10.0.5830

The Results

3D Mark 2005 (Default Bench Mark) Build 1.2.0

6559 (Destroys 6800 Ultra's. Creeping very slowly to the 7800 Results of course im talking about single cards and not SLI systems).

Next on the wish list is the water blocks for the cards and 4gig of ram then the AMD X2 CPU.

If any of you guyz need help in configuring your A8N-SLI just msn me. I think i have seen just about every problem with this motherboard so far and managed to resolve them. At least the Bios's are comming thick and fast now for the standard.

Spes: AMD-FX-55-64-hyper, ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe, two eVGA 6800 Ultra's, Four WD Raptors(Raid 0+1), 2 gigs kingston fergot the speed?, Enermax SLI-600 Watt PSU, both video and cpu water cooled, Thermaltake Aquarius III extra rad, here's my 3dmark05http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1376465 not bad in SLI over clocked slightly(video) video drivers were nividia 8185's I think? I went back to the 77.77 cause they have auto over clock option in them heres some photos too. Be kind as this is my first build im kinda a newb! Well say Hello to the Beast! Thanks, feedback please! ok all that and I dont know how to attach photo's lol?
