Re:Does the Rev.02 BIOS fix the XFX 6600GT? - 2005/02/05 02:43 Well some have tried it, but we are not certain if it will fix your issues? So you can always try... But first make sure you backup your original BIOS and attach it here or send it via mail to us.

If you don't know how to make a backup of your original BIOS of your graphics card, then you can first check the below guide...
NVIDIA GeForce BIOS Backup Guide

Re:Does the Rev.02 BIOS fix the XFX 6600GT? - 2005/02/05 04:02 Well I have same issues as all the others, DirectX games freezing and sometimes blue screen with nv4_disp. I've checked your BIOS section and you already have my BIOS in there, it is the XFX 6600GT AGP 8x Rev.01 BIOS, 128MB GDDR3. I didn't want to flash BIOS because I intend to return the card seeing how many headaches I've had cuz of these problems, someone has tried this?

He already has your BIOS version, but your card might have the same version, but with minor differences. I have discovered that the BIOS he had was different from the one I had, although they where the same version. And it was that what allowed me to discover how to enable the temp monitoring feature, by editing the BIOS file.

I have the very same card you do, with the same BIOS. I had the very same problems you had in the beginning. Problems that whre solved by upgrading the ForceWare to version 71.25!

So my advice to you is upgrading your drivers. In the download section...
NVIDIA Driver Files

Good luck!

Well I still want your BIOS, cause even if they have the same version, they are not always the same... So can you please supply it? Then you can always flash cause it is a real XFX BIOS and they can't know you flashed it... But also take a look at the advice above.

Re:Does the Rev.02 BIOS fix the XFX 6600GT? - 2005/02/05 23:52 I have tried 71.25, same thing happens, well I would post BIOS if could get a boot disk that recognizes NTFS! Also I only have one floppy and there isn't enough space for BIOS file on floppy, give this newbie some advice plz!

Edit...
I tried with DOS 6.0 boot disk and nvFlash produces a 0kb rom file. I must be doing something wrong! Is there somekind of guide so I dont screw this up? It also says something about not recognizing adapter I think.

Re:Does the Rev.02 BIOS fix the XFX 6600GT? - 2005/02/06 00:40 Well you don't need a real DOS startup diskette. With that I mean that you can make one from within Windows. How? Well you go to Windows Explorer, and then right click on Floppy Drive and choose Format Diskette, and then select Bootable Floppy. Once that is done you have a Bootable Floppy, which has a lot of space.

Then you use the following Tool we created!
MVKTech Flash V1.1
Flashes and saves SLI BIOSes in SLI or Single Mode.

This version has a menu...
>> 1. Single Backup PCI-E/AGP Card BIOS
>> 2. Dual Backup PCI-E SLI Cards BIOS
>> 3. Single Flash PCI-E/AGP Card BIOS
>> 4. Dual Flash PCI-E SLI Cards BIOS
>> 5. Exit

And the Backup BIOS is saved under "Backup" directory on the floppy... I hope this helps you getting it we gotten very good feedback on this nice tool!

Re:Does the Rev.02 BIOS fix the XFX 6600GT? - 2005/02/06 00:50 I've got it now, I used the latest nvFlash tool, v5.13 I think, it recognized the 6600GT and backed up ok. Here is the info on the card... XFX 6600 GT AGP8x 128MB GDDR3.
Card is from first series, the fan with a dog, and thermal monitor is on.
Bios is 5.43.02.36.
File Attachment:
File name: XFX6600GT128mb.rar
File size:42230 bytes

Re:Does the Rev.02 BIOS fix the XFX 6600GT? - 2005/02/06 01:35 Are you sure this BIOS has termal monitor on?
I have hex compared this BIOS with the one I have, and mine has temp monitor on. That hex comparison would leave me to conclude that your BIOS has temp monitor off! Strange!

Re:Does the Rev.02 BIOS fix the XFX 6600GT? - 2005/02/06 01:41 Yeah pretty sure.
I usually use RivaTuner to monitor it. Also appears in NVIDIA Driver Panel but RivaTuner is better imho.
