Windows NVIDIA BIOS Backup/Flash Tool... - 2005/02/03 07:05 Well I think I found it! Yeah, I tested it on my system and it worked fine. So maybe some of you can try it and let me know your feedback!

Windows NVIDIA BIOS Backup/Flash Tool

So you launch this program and you press the "Read" button. That will write the BIOS to the same directory where you put this application. When you have doen that you can also use the "Save" button, to save it to another location...

Ofcourse when you try this please send me your BIOS. Or you attach the BIOS to this thread...

And give me details like...
>> Brand
>> GPU Type
>> Amount of Memory
>> BUS Type (AGP or PCI-E)

Re:Windows NVIDIA BIOS Backup/Flash Tool... - 2005/02/03 13:53 Well I have just used to read/save my PNY Verto 6800 GT BIOS and all is okay. And the method that this WinFox Tools uses is just a standard readout of the BIOS on the card in Windows. So it works on all brands... And yes just read/save is safe. The flashing I still need to try out a bit more, but currently this is working as well.

I think that this is the Tool that everyone wants... Cause then we no longer need a bootable disk to get to dump the BIOS.

Let's hope a new version will come soon... And if else it might be something we could try to code now that we have an example. Mmmmm we will have to see.

@ ThugsRook: You need to turn off the write protection of the BIOS... I think eVGA always lock their BIOS because I had experience that I can not flash my eVGA FX5900 Ultra because the write protection is on, so I turned it off using nvFlash v4.41. After that I flashed mine with an eVGA FX5950 Ultra BIOS... You can turn it on the write protection later after you flashed...

Well that is why I initiated this thread. I want to get feedback if this Tool works for all or not... So on your end it doesn't seem to work right. This might be linked to the fact that this is a Leadtek program. But it worked on my PNY 6800GT card. The more feedback we get the better. Cause then we might see to get such a Tool coded ourselves in the future.
