Just a simple question... Is there any thermal paste between GPU and the cooler on 6800GT boards (MSI model, in particular) or there is something else?
Thanks.

Re:6800GT cooler - 2005/01/29 17:06Well there should always be some thermal paste between the GPU and the cooler. But you might wanna replace it with some AS5 which gives much better results.

Re:6800GT cooler - 2005/01/29 17:33I have an Asus V9999 Ultra Deluxe with 6800Ultra and yes the GPU has a white -for me- thermal paste and some white also thermal "pads" in memory chips. I replaced both with ceramic thermal paste but with no drop in temperature for GPU as I can see from the driver tab for ambient and GPU temperatures so for me just leave it the way it is.

Re:6800GT cooler - 2005/01/29 17:42After the normal "curing" time, my GPU temp dropped a couple degrees.
