Desicions, decisions... - 2005/01/28 08:50 Well since they no longer make the same exact model, XFX 6800GT Dual DVI card I am getting a refund for it from Newegg. Now I was wondering. I want your opinions on which card I should get next. Please explain your answer cause a simple yes or no on a certain video card gives me no info other than you are a fanboy or you bought it and have had some luck with it. Around $400+ is nothing to just blow away. Here are the cards I'm looking at...

XFX GeForce 6800GT
XFX NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT Video Card, 256MB GDDR3, 256-Bit, TV-Out/DVI, 8X AGP

Asus V9999GT/TD/256MB
ASUS NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT Video Card, 256MB GDDR3, 256-Bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP
(notice the modified Ultra PCB it's made on)

Gainward Golden Sample "Ultra/2400"
Gainward nVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT Video Card, 256MB DDR3, 256-Bit, TV-Out/Dual DVI, 8X AGP

Re:Desicions, decisions... - 2005/01/29 01:42 Well if I can choose, I would go for the Gainward Golden Sample. Why? Because it is standard better clocked the the 2 others and has better warranty as well. And from what you see Gainward had the best BIOS around to get the best performance...

Secondly I would go for the Asus I think... Why? Well I like the cooler and they also standard clock their cards a bit higher. Yeah XFX does that also. Well yes here you can choose a bit.

I have a PNY Verto 6800GT... And well I like it and it runs as Ultra speeds (well even a bit more 425/1150MHz). But it is a reference design just like XFX.

Re:Desicions, decisions... - 2005/01/29 01:56 I say Gainward also, MVKTech has both single and dual slot 6800 Standard GS AGP's and those things kick ass! I like the dual slot myself, slightly better cooling and looks neat!

Re:Desicions, decisions... - 2005/01/29 08:37 i haven't seen the GS in stock. neither have i seen the regular golden sample either. well i'll keep looking.
