fx5900 with low performance - 2005/01/27 05:37 I just bought a couple weeks ago my FX5900XT Golden Limited thinking that i could reach better performance playing NFSU-2(I had that HORRIBLE FX5200 64bit XFX CARD) but, what i saw is this:

I´m playing at 800x600 mode and full graphic detail (should be working with no performance problems) but...
all that I can see is the frame rate about 30-40fps...
in very rare times, it drops to 15-17 (unplayable game)
doesn´t it work better than that?
Could be my processor the "thing" that is making my system work with less performance?

by the way, this is my system:

AXP2200+(fsb133x13,5) @1.55Vcore
MSI KT880 DELTA
DUAL 256 400 @166-2/2/6/2(working@1:1 MEM and processor)
Creative LIVE! 5.1
Geforce FX5900XT Golden Limited@ 400/750 BiosMod.

Re:fx5900 with low performance - 2005/01/27 06:00 Since you wrote you play with full details , I think you have enabled full AA and full Anisotrophic Filtering. These settings will bring you better IQ but they are really performance intensive. I play on 1024x768 with lower settings for AA and Anisotrophic and it works fine for me (also on 5900XT). You can find these settings in the Image quality section of NFS under Antialiasing and texture filter.

I don´t know if NFSU 2 is this much CPU intensive, but in HL2 you will get some performance problems because of your CPU.

Re:fx5900 with low performance - 2005/01/29 17:22 Yeap I agree.Turn off Antialising and Anisotropic filtering and bump up the
resolution to 1024x768.
