Speed modded 6800NU BIOS - 2005/01/22 17:24 Hi guys,

I have Speed modded my BIOS with NiBiTor v1.9b using nvFlash to unlock my BIOS then backup the original to modify it.

Original Speeds
Core : 325MHz
Memory : 700MHz

Modded Speeds
Core : 400MHz (75MHz increase no stability problems)
Memory : 800MHz (100MHz increase no stability problems)

No artifacts as yet will keep you guys informed. Temp on new settings is currently 48°C. This card has pipecooling technology from Gigabyte (GV-N68128-DH) worth looking at if you want cheap but effective card.

Have attached the modded BIOS to this thread for inspection...

What do you exactly mean with "to unlock"?
And did you also change voltages on the modded BIOS?

Re:Speed modded 6800NU BIOS - 2005/01/22 19:59 No change on voltage. I unlocked the BIOS to write to it as some BIOSes have been protected against flashing on some 6800 cards this function has been disabled by an write once chip and when someone tries to flash it this then becomes corrupt.

That is why so many peeps are having problems flashing their card especially the 6800 range (only certain manufactures) compiling a list and will post ASAP.

So beware that 6800 card maybe BIOS locked permantly check using nvFlash first before attempting to flash or change any BIOSes. Very costly if you corrupt your BIOS.

Have you got any artifacts on play AVI, or any Video (DVD)? I have a red-blue artifacts only when played the movies. But in the games no problems, no artifacts...

Have lowered the speeds on this particular mod as this card has no fan to cool the heatsink down.

Re:Speed modded 6800NU BIOS - 2005/01/23 16:55 Okay... Well if you get a list somehow that would be nice. But I think that most cards will stil have a writable BIOS chip. Maybe somehow it is protected but it should always be possible to somehow undo that protection. As most brands offer new BIOSes via their support team when someone complains about problems and they know a BIOS update would fix it...
