Torbjörn is a good guy, although as far as GW goes they are as a company kind of slow in action when it comes to support. Not very surprising maybe since the entire web support load seems to be on the shoulders of Torbjörn... I don't think he has an easy job, when I stopped looking a while ago he had yet to get new 6800gt bioses out there, a promise he made on the 31'st of july 2004...
Also, does anyone know if the issue regarding if experttool bios update, specifically if it goes bad, does void the warranty has been resolved yet? It is stated in the waver that it should not but I spoke to a guy that was told by the tech support that would have to pay for the repairs regardless of if he used experttool or not... The reason for this was explained by Torbjörn as follows:
"[...]a majority of people has decided to softmod their graphicsboards, in fact voiding their warranty [...] so when we suspect/detect that softmodding is the case, we will charge a fee to repair the card."
I can understand their point of view but can't help but feel that it is somewhat dishonest not to inform people of this change in policy...
I suspect this is the reason for the removal of the bios update function in Experttool...
