Re:Dell GeForce GT 550M and got some BIOS voltage questions? - 2011/12/30 07:43
Perfect! I imagine this will work for almost anybody. Gave me about 200MHz more max clock, and increased stability at some of the higher levels. Good stuff.
So I reintegrated it by opening the universal extracted .rom with the PhoenixDell tool, clicked Advanced and allowed modification of all image files, hit Go, inserted the modded module in the DUMP folder prior to the start of the rebuilding. This modified, rebuilt ROM does not flash on its own with the UEFI (Dell or Torment-provided) flasher. The resulting rebuilt ROM then had to be integrated into the original WPH file, replacing the F33E367F-xxxx-xxxx module and reintegrating it again. Then the WinFlash/Dell tool can be used (even in GUI mode!) to flash the WPH file (you must select to browse all files, however, as WPH isn't recognized by default).
And there we go. Not too tough... I'm just curious how you guys manage to find the voltage in the nvidia module. What's the approximate offset? How do you analyze for available frequencies and mod the appropriate hex address? Heuristics?
Thanks quite a bit for this. Hope this helps others. Eagerly awaiting the next NiBiTor! Hopefully then people like me won't have to bother you all.
