Re:Someone who can tweak a GeForce GTX 580M BIOS voltage!? - 2011/12/11 06:12 I finally flashed to GeForce GTX 570M BIOS, but have it's device ID modified from 1210 to 1211, because Clevo machine will detect GPU and device ID during bootup, if it finds difference you get black screen. Don't know how Dell machine acts.

Re:Someone who can tweak a GeForce GTX 580M BIOS voltage!? - 2011/12/11 11:32 Yes, something did happen with this and we are working on it, as we actually lost part of our harddisk and had to try and recover which wasn't that successful as we did loose some coding. And secondly there is a bit more to these GeForce GTX 5x0M series that requires multiple code routines as the voltage applied depends per type which take a bit more time to make it right. Sorry, we expected to finish sooner, although donations haven't been that great either. Oh well, please bear with us and we hope to re-finish the coding shortly.

Re:Someone who can tweak a GeForce GTX 580M BIOS voltage!? - 2011/12/15 11:53 Hey, I just today received my Clevo P170HM3 featuring 120Hz 3D with a single GeForce GTX 580M fitted and I was just wondering if it can be modified to take the max voltage possible? I believe this is 0.92V? I don't care about any other voltages or clock speeds other then 3D as its used only for gaming. I will also let you guys know if 0.92V enabled me to increase my overclock. Thanks so much.

It is the same video BIOS as provided by the topic initiator, which means that you can just go to the starting page and download the overvolted BIOS that was made by Mavke. That should be all you need to flash and enjoy higher voltage for 3D operation.

Re:Someone who can tweak a GeForce GTX 580M BIOS voltage!? - 2011/12/15 14:12 Okay, as requested your BIOS voltage bumped for 3D performance operation to 0.92V and no other changes. This should allow you to overclock further using software such as Afterburner. If you want a tweaked version with specific clock speeds just let us know and we can adapt accordingly.

Re:Someone who can tweak a GeForce GTX 580M BIOS voltage!? - 2011/12/16 05:21 Thanks so much. I don't mean to be a pain in the butt, but when trying to flash it in Dos, using nvFlash and have tried 2 different versions when booted from my USB stick and typing the nvflash command has resulted in NVIDIA display adapter not recognized and the other version said something about the vendor does not match. I don't supose there is a tutorial somewhere that can explain how to do it? Or is there a specific version of nvFlash I need to use? Please forgive me if I sound noobish but I am. Thanks guys.

Re:Someone who can tweak a GeForce GTX 580M BIOS voltage!? - 2011/12/16 08:46 Are you using the latest version of nvFlash? Just wondering cause if you are not using the latest version than nvFlash will not recognize your rather new graphics device as the logic to recognize it isn't present. I would suggest that you try with nvFlash v5.100 and if that gives a complaint to give us the exact wordings.
nvFlash v5.xx Software Commands...
"nvflash -5 -6 newbios.rom" (Normal BIOS flashing)
"nvflash -4 -5 -6 newbios.rom" (Forced BIOS flashing)

Re:Someone who can tweak a GeForce GTX 580M BIOS voltage!? - 2011/12/16 09:20 Thanks for the help, the error I'm getting is warning firmware image PCI subsystem ID (10DE.0000) does not match adapter PCI subsystem ID (1558.7101). It does say press yes to continue but if the ID's don't match I shouldn't do it correct? And I am using nvFlash v5.100. As a simple test, I decided to see what the confirmation message was if I were to flash my original BIOS and I get the exact same PCI subsystem ID mismatch as I do with the modified one, perhaps nvFlash doesn't fully support the graphics adaptor yet?

Re:Someone who can tweak a GeForce GTX 580M BIOS voltage!? - 2011/12/16 09:48 Hehe, it is a bit strange indeed that even with the original BIOS it gives the same mismatch. Did you use nvFlash to backup the BIOS as well or you used a different software? If you didn't use nvFlash can you make the backup using nvFlash and provide it so we can compare. If you did use nvFlash, can you use GPU-Z to backup the BIOS? I want to compare if they dump something different before say just go ahead and force the flash...
