MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr allow fan profile tweaking? - 2011/11/23 02:16 Hey all, I got the MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr and I would like to modify the fan profile to increase base fan speed from 40% to 50% and have the card go to 100% fan speed at 80°C. I have attached my original BIOS if someone could take a look at this? I can't seem to find any options in NiBiTor to modify the fan profile. Thanks.

Re:MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr allow fan profile tweaking? - 2011/11/23 02:19 Also I have attached another file to this post as I have modded my clock speeds from 880/4200MHz to 925/4300MHz but have not changed the voltages in any way. I was hoping to see if someone could check that I have done this correctly taking into account the boosted shader clockc which have to be increased to a set ratio too. I would love it if someone could take a look at my previous request regarding the fan speed situation. Thanks

Thanks for the question, and we have offered all we gotten to know about the fan speed which are the minimum and maximum value. And yes, we somehow believe there should be more but so far we didn't find were or how the fan profile or so called fan curve can be modified and we have given up searching. So if someone can point us out how that would be feasible, we will be very happy to look into it again and see what we can unlock.

Re:MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr allow fan profile tweaking? - 2011/11/23 22:28 You say we know about the minimum and maximum fan speeds, is it possible to change the minimum fan speed in NiBiTor, if so how? Also not sure if you missed my above post regarding the overclocking, is my overclocking calculations correct? Thanks.

Related to the fan speed you need to use the temperatures tab and you will find there the settings for the fan speed, which allows you to change the minimum and maximum fan speed. Related to your tweaked BIOS effort for the calculated boosted shader clock that is correct. You calculated it just fine.

I have just realised something, I don't think NiBiTor is reading my cards BIOS voltages properly. With Afterburner and GPU-Z it tells me that I'm running 0.987V as stock but NiBiTor shows different values. Is this a known issue?
Yes, this is a know issue. Sorry, trying to be sarcastic. So no that is not an issue and actually NiBiTor is supporting the logic as designed by NVIDIA for the Fermi technology which is using clock and voltage domains. And for the voltage that means that it actually has an operating range and each card will depending on the core quality use the voltage as it sees fit between the low and high value, which you can see with NiBiTor. Our software is correct and simply offers the full flexibility as the BIOS is actually designed. If you would have multiple cards, all being the same you will see that they will almost never report the same voltage through Afterburner but the voltage range they can operate is for all the same.

Re:MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr allow fan profile tweaking? - 2011/11/24 14:39 thankyou for your reply again you have been most helpful.

in nibitor under the fermi voltage editor i can see the highest voltage range is show in setting 2 which is (0) 0.9625 and (1) 1.05v

apps like gpu-z and afterburner show my 3d voltage as 0.987v

how can i set the voltage to be 1.00v in 3d mode? what does my working range need to be altered to, to get the 1.00v which is 1 notch above 0.987v in afterburner?

thanks

Re:MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr allow fan profile tweaking? - 2011/11/24 15:00 The best thing is that you bring up the min and max value in equal steps, and to get above that 0.987V value reported by Afterburner your minimum should be at least one step higher. That won't guarantee it will run at 1.00V but it will be higher than before, or if you want you can set both the min and max value the same, but that might lead to issues when the card we need more voltage and can't go any higher.
