580M uses CHIL8214 which has 3VID pins.It can support 8 voltages.
As your result has confirmed that all those 5 vbios could run stable at 750MHz So they should bring voltages that are higher than 0.87v.
And the 3 left are 0.80v/0.85v/0.87v, so it is not possible to get a 0.70v just through vbios modification.
Gotcha, m8) the thing is that no matter what vbios i use: 04/06 it still throttles from 670/1500 while the others confirm stable throttle-free 3dmark runs at 750/1700, so the only choice left for me is to undervolt gtx580m to 0.85 and i can go to 700/1600 with no throttle in benches. Can you provide me with the 700/1600 0.85v **.06 bios if it's possible?

Re:tweak GTX580M BIOS voltage - 2011/10/12 11:47Has anyone tested overclocking the core very high but not touching the memory, it seems to give good results. Maybe the memory modules are the most power hungry?

Re:tweak GTX580M BIOS voltage - 2011/10/12 13:33tnx, Saltius, a lot!!!
oh yeah, i did try to disable SLI before, still no luck. It was throttling at the same clocks for me. So i assume it's not the total power or heat protection function, but either per card power protection or mostly load related protection. Cause in 3dmark11 the load stays around 98/99%, but in Unigine 2.5 and some other games only goes to 96/97%, max...

Re:tweak GTX580M BIOS voltage - 2011/10/12 17:27i think i did one full run of dx11 and that was like 7200 vantage, 30k - gpu 29.7k / cpu 32.2k 3dmark06, 33k

and that's with CPU at 4.6Ghz anf GPU's at 750/1700 0.87v?

Re:tweak GTX580M BIOS voltage - 2011/10/12 18:34johnksss, could you possibly provide a screenshots with 3dmark11/vantage runs and such a high OC? BTW, no extreme cooling used, right?

you guys are concerned about this on the desk benching business. ..im an over clocker so i run what works. im using cold air to get the numbers im going for. i can run it off the desk with same clocks, but get a little lower score. my every day clocks are at this point... 4.8 ghz..as seen by shaden and xen.
and extreme cooling is dice/ln2/helium/casscade/single stage/water chiller. cold air, external fan or benching (maybe extreme to the user..hahaha)outside is not extreme.
bottom line..for some reason all these bios files throttle with every bench i have ran. and give sub par results in dx11.(because nvidia cant control tessellation like amd can) and i have screen shots...which i'll post when nbr goes back online. still testing...
off the desk..i can run 740/linked/1700 on stock bios. not stuttering...but that's a work in progress...depending on my room temp.
ok. did a crysis run at 740 / 4.7 ghz on the desk. with normal fans. 62 fps average.
