Re:GTX 560m BIOS attached - Can you increase the voltage please? - 2011/11/10 15:59 Mavke wrote:
Have you checked the temps when the throttle is happening? Raising the voltage on the low power 3D mode won't make a difference cause if it throttles it will also switch to those lower clock speeds. And raising both the voltage and clock speed isn't a good idea unless you find out in what conditions the throttling is happening.
Well some applications under which Furmark initiates a power limiter to kick in, this power throttling and don't confuse with thermal throttling that kicks in at 79°C is something unwanted we can not control. I have the impression Furmark and other applications are blacklisted by the driver. So what I need is P8 state raised from 0.820V to 1.000 V. We can raise the clocks manually by using software. Could you provide me this modification? Many thanks and cheers.

Re:GTX 560m BIOS attached - Can you increase the voltage please? - 2011/11/21 19:26 Be aware if you do that you cannot enter those clocks when using your battery. There is no way your battery will be able to supply that power, P8 is battery 3D. So no 3D application while on battery power and be very careful not to unplug it while gaming.

Re:GTX 560m BIOS attached - Can you increase the voltage please? - 2012/01/05 21:22 Hi. I just updated my 560m vbios with a new one from Dell.
Version reads now 70.26.36.00.09
(old one was 70.26.29.00.06)

Do you know the difference ?

If I check in nvidia inspector it still has the same P states..
All looks the same...
I wonder if there is something under the hood not visible to me?
MANY THANKS

Find attached the new bios in bin format
