Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.9 software and give feedback? - 2011/01/07 12:46 Thanks for sharing the BIOS and we will add this to our support to be included for the next version we are working on. So maybe not the next version but the one after as we already finished the next version which is currently available after donation. Though before we can add the support can you provide the specifications, brand, amount of memory, clock speeds, and so on? Cause that helps to figure out the information and add the support faster. Thanks.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.9 software and give feedback? - 2011/01/09 02:18 Sorry I don't actually have the card, I downloaded the BIOS from another forum and it looks like it's from a Dell Precision M6500 laptop. Normally the Quadro FX3800M should have 1GB of memory and the clocks should be 675/2000MHz with shaders running at 1688MHz. But I don't know what Dell did to it, it should be similar to the GeForce GTX 280M device.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.9 software and give feedback? - 2011/01/09 08:04 I have just tried NiBiTor in hopes that it would allow me to edit the fan thresholds on my GeForce 8700M GT cards within SLI config in my Dell XPS M1730 laptop. And NiBiTor is able to read the BIOS images when run in administrator mode in Vista, but it doesn't show any data on the temperatures tab. Is this because the fans are controlled by the motherboard chipset instead of the GeForce 8700M GT, or is it because NiBiTor just doesn't have support this?

Okay, and just to respond directly there is no fan speed table within these BIOS's which is why you won't find anything under that option. As you might know, or perhaps not but that option requires a specific chip for the control, and in that case the BIOS comes with a fan speed table though to cut costs and that is why they removed that chip. There might still be some other hidden fan speed option but we haven't found anything, but if you or someone else would know more we are interested to hear more.

I double checked Dell's website and it looks like the fan control tables are in the M1730 system BIOS instead of the graphics card BIOS itself. Oh well, no luck for tweaking the fan speed I guess.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.9 software and give feedback? - 2011/01/10 22:53 Euh, well for a laptop it will be rather the laptop fans that can be controlled and perhaps in the system BIOS you can control multiple fans from the menu which will certainly be the one for the central processor and maybe as well the fan they put that will cool down the graphics device. With laptops you actually can have both depending on how the manufacturer made the design.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.9 software and give feedback? - 2011/01/17 08:00 Hello, in the fan speed IC settings, I can't access any of the values that have a comma in them for TRange slope like for example 26,67 as a value. It gives an error and I am guessing the comma is the problem. Maybe it should be a decimal instead? I would very much like to use the 26,67 option. I find it strange no one has complained about this yet. Thanks.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.9 software and give feedback? - 2011/01/17 18:52 Euh, I don't know what you mean really cause I just used a standard BIOS from a GeForce 8800 GT and I can adapt the TRange slope with the value with a comma when selected from the list. So perhaps you can first provide your original BIOS to see and try for ourselves? Cause nobody reported any issues, most likely since for almost everyone it just works.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.9 software and give feedback? - 2011/01/17 22:27 Hi, I have a GeForce GTX 260 which is Palit branded and I actually attached the BIOS which isn't original as I have changed the fan settings already and I don't have the original.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.9 software and give feedback? - 2011/01/18 09:34 Thanks, though when I open some other original GeForce GTX 260 version BIOS's and those come with the dynamic speed option for fan speed which allows the decimal values, though your is set with automatic speed and that doesn't allow to use decimals. Keep that in mind for your tweaking matters.
