NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.9 software and give feedback? - 2010/12/01 22:02 As promised we would release with a new version of NiBiTor today, and we actually didn't wait for reaching our donation target. We did get your feedback and some newer BIOS's submitted and we have a new update to add extra support, also with full support for the newer GeForce GTS 4x0 series video cards. And for any features or things you would like to see, let us know and we will see what is possible and/or feasible in a next update going forward.

NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.9 Software

For those who are having some of those newer Fermi based GeForce GTX 5x0 graphics cards and are looking for tweaking clock speed, voltages and fan speed, this is available after a donation through the ChipIn module. And don't forget that all the development is only feasible due to your contributions. As always please provide your feedback, so we can make it better! Also provide your original BIOS as that help a lot to get better support in the next versions!

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.9 software and give feedback? - 2010/12/02 11:36 Hi, on Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate version NiBiTor gives me error that it can't start driver 1275 when I try to read the BIOS from my graphics card. For reference, I have and EVGA e-GeForce GTX 280 graphic card.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.9 software and give feedback? - 2010/12/02 14:21 I have the same problem and I tried to start it also as admin, it is also the same, with Windows XP compatibilty mode. My operating system is Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate with a GeForce GTX 580, if there is a solution I will donate the project.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.9 software and give feedback? - 2010/12/02 17:29 Thanks and since you are both new to these forums, this is a known item but not an issue as you can't backup the BIOS with newer operating systems of Microsoft if you don't pay for a certificate of Mircosoft to get direct access to the hardware. And we are a non profit website, and can't pay this exessive amount to Microsoft which need to be renewed each year. You can backup your original BIOS via nvFlash of GPU-Z and tweak it afterwards with our NiBiTor software. We have mentioned this many times before, and we just don't like the way Microsoft prevents control to hardware by other software.

Of course there is a solution and that is by using the official nvFlash software from NVIDIA which is what you do need to be able to flash afterwards. And make sure you use the latest version which support the correct readout of the GeForce GTX 580 BIOS firmware. Or you could use the fixed GPU-Z version which works as well, just be sure that for the GeForce GTX 5x0 series your BIOS is showing around 80-82kb in size.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.9 software and give feedback? - 2010/12/02 20:16 Could you tell me whether this latest version of your program will allow me to change the performance profiles on my Zotac GeForce GT 430? I can post the BIOS if you like. Should I just attach it to a post? I am new to this forum. With thanks in advance.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.9 software and give feedback? - 2010/12/02 23:24 Just to remind you, that is you are looking for the exclusive NiBiTor version which does support the GeForce GTX 580 and some more graphics cards that you will need to ChipIn after which we will get notification and we mail you this exclusive version. Of you donate $25 or more you will also receive for at least 12 months all exclusive versions automatically before all others.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.9 software and give feedback? - 2010/12/02 23:28 Both GeForce GT 220 and GeForce GT 240M look one bit to the left of where they should do for the number of voltage table entries. The GeForce GT 220 seems to have five values for core voltage in the BIOS where as the voltage table editor only supports four. With the GeForce GT 240M it detects the wrong value for shader clocks in Throttle mode in main window, while the Fermi clocks menu is correct. Putting 810MHz in the box seems to leave it working correctly. The GeForce GT 220 BIOS, once loaded going into voltage entry section causes program to crash. Cheers for your time.

Thanks for the update and we will have another look, and see what we can find out and correct are needed. As we don't have such cards ourselves and these BIOS's are no longer so easy to just interprete these thing can slip through and we really appreciate your feedback. Thanks again!
