NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.8 software and give feedback? - 2010/10/05 11:38 As promised we would release with a new version of NiBiTor this week, and we actually didn't wait for reaching our donation target. We did get your feedback and some newer BIOS's submitted and we have a new update to add extra support, also with full support for the newer GeForce GTX 4x0 series video cards. And for any features or things you would like to see, let us know and we will see what is possible and/or feasible in a next update going forward.

NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.8 Software

For those who are having some of those newer Fermi based GeForce GTS 450 graphics cards and are looking for tweaking clock speed and voltages, this is available after a donation through the ChipIn module. And don't forget that all the development is only feasible due to your contributions. As always please provide your feedback, that way we will be able to support you even better! Also provide your original BIOS as that help a lot to get better support in the next versions!

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.8 software and give feedback? - 2010/10/05 12:26 For those who didn't read the news post about this new version of NiBiTor, this is the release to support two new cards and no the fan speed is not yet enabled as this is the exclusive version which has been available for donators for more than two months. And only the new exclusive version has the new fan speed tweaking feature. So you know what you should do to enjoy this exclusive new version.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.8 software and give feedback? - 2010/10/05 13:55 So, will the new exclusive version, being NiBiTor v5.9 support setting for fan speed on the GeForce GTS 450? Meaning that this version is also available to donators as of today?

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.8 software and give feedback? - 2010/10/05 14:13 Yes, the current exclusive version of NiBiTor available to contributors has the fan speed option included for all current GeForce GTX 4x0 series, including the GeForce GTS 450 as well. And take note that the BIOS will not be the limiting factor for the fan speed but rather the hardware logic around it as we have already proven during some testing.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.8 software and give feedback? - 2010/10/05 15:00 Hi, I have tried with the version you sent me yesterday after my donation. I loaded both the Gigabyte and some MSI BIOS's but the fan options seem not to be working. To be honest, nothing seems to be working. I wonder, does the program work only if the relevant card is installed in the machine the program is running on?

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.8 software and give feedback? - 2010/10/05 15:21 I would suggest you read once again my previous post on the fan speed option and that will clarify it all. Secondly, can you also read the email that is supplied, since it outlines clearly where you can find the Fermi clocks and voltages which are no longer available through the standard way but through a separate option due to now being clock domains.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.8 software and give feedback? - 2010/10/05 15:26 And to clearly let you know, any donations done before NiBiTor v5.8 was publicly released, that means the actual public version was NiBiTor v5.7 and they you gotten what you donated for. All new donations will mean you get the newest exclusive version, although all persons who have donated over the last twelve months in total at least $25 will get the exclusive version later today automatically in their inbox as usual, and fan speed tweaking is only supported as of that version.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.8 software and give feedback? - 2010/10/05 23:06 Thank you for the new exclusive NiBiTor v5.9, though I can find no indication for modifying fan speeds, is there a new panel cause I only have clocks and voltage. If it's part of clocks which group is responsible and what are the equations?

You will find the fan speed tweak option on the standard tabs in the new exclusive NiBiTor version, under temperatures. You will see there the fan speed now offering a mininum and maximum speed, which you can adapt. That is now how that works for the Fermi based graphics cards.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.8 software and give feedback? - 2010/10/05 23:39 And perhaps it is also good to share that you find the clock speeds and voltages now in a different way for the Fermi based graphics cards since these are based on so called clock domains, which is a complete different structure than any other previous GeForce series you need to look at the specific menu to tweak those settings.
