Mmm, well teh other way could work as well and that is that the pin 1 (CE) might need a high voltage. Cause that is not all all clear for ATI cards, some require to be grounded and other need to get a high voltage to actually reset the chip select. So that is the other option to try by connecting it now with the high voltage pin and do the same, booting up, removing the connection and flash immediately.
