Phenom II X3 and 790GX motherboard, opinions on this setup? - 2009/05/22 04:45
Hi all, I am preparing to purchase some new parts like mainboard, processor, memory, etc. I have my eye on such an ASRock AOD790GX/128M mainboard with an AMD Phenom II X3 720 and some OCZ 2x 2GB DDR2-1200 system memory, what do you think. Do these X3's average close to 3.6GHz on decent air cooling? The board is a CrossFire so maybe some day when I hit lotto I can get another Radeon HD 4830 to put in it.
Or would a Core 2 Duo be a better choice. I just like the idea of the extra core in the X3 edition. I don't have any brand loyalty I have used and been happy with both blue and green. I just want good bang for buck. Thanks...
