Some advice on Netbook to go for, and can you help out here? - 2009/03/01 11:04Well guys, I am a bit falling for the netbook stuff, so I am wondering who does have already a netbook and what do you think of it? Secondly I am looking for a good one, meaning great power, speed but very stylish and sleek design. So can you give your input, cause it would be nice to have a netbook just when I am out of town and a notebook isn't just needed really. So tell me, what do you have and what do you advice?

Re:Some advice on Netbook to go for, and can you help out here? - 2009/03/01 16:58Does anyone have one and can share its opinion cause I would really like a good one but what Atom to go for best and what about the system memory and hard drive? I would like a good one, best with a solid state disk. Come on guys, it will help me lot and of course it needs some good wireless network support.

Re:Some advice on Netbook to go for, and can you help out here? - 2009/03/01 22:10I'm currently using FTEC eeBook G10X-3G with built-n HSDPA modem. I believe it is OEM version of the ECS G10IL with 10.2" LCD, Atom 1.6GHz single core with HyperThreading with 2GB DDR2-533 and 160GB WesternDigital hard disk, bluetooth, wireless 802.11b/g, 1.3mego pixels webcam. The battery lasts about 3 hours doing online activity. Already been using this Netbook since November 2008. The reason I picked this Netbook model because this is the only model in my country that has built-in 3G modem.
Other well known brands need to use external 3G modem since the module wasn't included to be sold in my country. So far I'm happy with it. I even left it on 24 hourrs for two straight days just to test if it's durable enough and turn it into a pricey wireless router. Just st sharing my experience with my Netbook. If you're looking for solid state drives, try ASUS EeePC.

Thanks mate, yeah I am looking for one that will go long enough and I know that solid state drives are better for power consumption but also faster. I was looking also what would be the best way forward the Atom N270 or those Atom Z540 processors, one being single and the other dual core. So if you can or some other can as well share and maybe also find some very thin versions?

Re:Some advice on Netbook to go for, and can you help out here? - 2009/03/01 22:29Seems you are right that ASUS has even some slim version which comes with solid state drive, and this one is also with a Atom N270. The only thing I would want is 2GB memory cause running Windows XP with just 1GB memory sounds a but too low...

Re:Some advice on Netbook to go for, and can you help out here? - 2009/03/04 23:40By the way does anyone perhaps owns already a Sony P series netbook? Cause those come with nice specs being an Intel Atom, 2GB memory and you have the option to pick a 128GB solid state disk. So what do you guys think of that? It is mainly for when I am on the road and just want to be checking mails and small site updates. What do you think? Yeah I know I could get a laptop but that is bigger and really want something small but with enough storage so I can still keep a backup of all the BIOS's on it. Let me know, your opinion.

Re:Some advice on Netbook to go for, and can you help out here? - 2009/04/26 13:02What do you guys think about the Acer Aspire One D150 as a Netbook? Since this one is in Belgium equipped with the all new Atom N280 and seems to have some decent specs. But what do you think and are there any shop owners visiting our website? Who can tell me how good the display is, cause most likely those will certainly be able to tell?

Re:Some advice on Netbook to go for, and can you help out here? - 2009/05/11 15:25Since not so many have actually shared much experience and I just ordered the Acer Aspire One D150. And well the next day I got called by my favorite shop to tell me those are already taken out and replaced with the Aspire One D250, which are a bit more thin but similary specced and I get it at the same price of the Aspire One D150, which is excellent as it saves a bit of money.

Re:Some advice on Netbook to go for, and can you help out here? - 2009/05/17 16:29Okay guys, my Acer Aspire One D250 has arrived which is really a nice Netbook but somehow I do feel like 1GB is a but shortcutting it which might be the case for all Netbooks though. But for the rest it is a great little machine with a 10.1inch LCD display. Now I just need to get all the extra tools of that I don't need.

Re:Some advice on Netbook to go for, and can you help out here? - 2009/05/21 22:35Hi, here is a interesting tool called FlashPoint for all of you that have a Netbook with SSD's. I got an Asus Eee PC 901 with 12GB SSD and its burst write speed went up by 300%. No joke, and it is stable so I hope it's helpful. FlashPoint SSD Write Speed Accelerator Driver Software
