Sapphire Radeon X1650 PRO AGP, and move to LCD display? - 2008/12/18 07:08 Hi, well I'm not a pro on this subject but I have been doing a lot of reseach so here is my problem. I have the ASUS A7V8X motherboard with the Sapphire Radeon X1650 PRO AGP graphics card with 512MB of DDR2 memory. The problem is that I recently got a 22" LCD to replace my old 19" CRT display. Raven Shield would run great and smooth, now after the change Raven Shield is running with barely 40 frames max and drops constantly to 20 frames.

No matter what I do I can't get any more good frames, even when I have lowered the resolutions, etc. I have latest drivers and all. I notice that my AGP writes are off and no matter what I do they will reset to off and I don't have a AGP write option on my motherboard. So I'm wondering if that could be the problem. Anybody could have a solution or any advice? Thanks in advance.

My system Specifications...
- ASUS A7V8X VIA KT400 Based Mainboard
- AMD Athlon XP 2000+ 1.7GHz Processor
- Unknow 2GB DDR System Memory
- Sapphire Radeon X1650 AGP Video Card
- Creative Audigy Gamer Sound Card
- Windows XP Professional incl. SP2

Your title has been updated to be more accurate as from what you wrote the only change you have made is changing the display really. And in that aspect it should have no impact at all and certainly won't have anything to do with the mainboard, since nothing changed there. What did change is the monitor, from CRT to a LCD display and what you need to check is the refresh rate. Cause on the CRT I would image your refresh rate was higher than what you are now using with your LCD monitor. That alone would explain the issue as well.
