NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v4.6 software and got feedback? - 2008/09/29 20:32As promised, again a new version is available. We did get your feedback and some extra BIOS's submitted and with the help of xtremetheme we have a new update to add some extra support. This is a new release which adds extra support for some mobile graphics cards in a better way. Upcoming features or things you would like to see. Let us know and we will see what is possible and/or feasible.
And please provide your feedback, that way we will be able to support you even better! Do let us know what is not working or what you would like to see in any upcoming new version. Also provide your original BIOS as that help a lot to get thing better supported in the next versions!

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v4.6 software and got feedback? - 2008/09/30 09:04Thanks so much, I've installed NiBiTor v4.6 for my GeForce 9800M GTX and it read everything perfectly. A little issue I'm having with it, when I go to increase any clocks, the card runs at stock speeds after flashing and no change in performance. When I overvolt above the stock 1.03V, say to even 1.04V, the NVIDIA kernel fails and I am getting blue screens. However, underclocking and undervolting seem to work great, all the way down to 0.7V. I should mention that overvolting and overclocking the speeds for the 3D setting seems to work, up to stock speeds. Anything above that fails.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v4.6 software and got feedback? - 2008/09/30 15:21Thanks for this release, I already modified my GeForce 9600M GT BIOS with it and it works like a charm. For everyone who might be interested I have uploaded my modded BIOS which works now with 650/1900MHz and 1650MHz shader clock and this is from an Acer 5930G laptop.

Thanks for the feedback mate, good to see some nice news about the new version on how it worked for you. So we have made again some good pogress and we will sure try to keep that up. Also I would like to invite you to visit our advertisers especially the one with the pricings on, and the donation is free to use as it comes all in the development bucket.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v4.6 software and got feedback? - 2008/10/01 00:44Just wanting to help out here. I did some testing and I'm not sure whether the issue is with NiBiTor of nvFlash. When I flash my BIOS with clocks greater than the standard Extra clocks, they auto revert back to the standard Extra clocks. If I flash the BIOS, shut down, then restart and pull the BIOS off using nvFlash and pull it into NiBiTor, the clocks are again back to the standard. But if I read them off the modified flash, that I tried flashing with, the clocks are where I set them. Underclocking works fine, as does undervolting. Overvolting even by 0.01V induces a kernel panic. I'm not sure if I'm the only GeForce 9800M GTX owner who's tried this or having the problem, but it just doesn't seem to be working properly. Thanks again for the help.

Thanks for the feedback, but the little issue I am having is that the 1.04V that you are trying isn't possible so you are doing things that I believe you don't know how to do them and therefore do those incorrectly. Once again as we have mentioned many time before the voltage value you are putting does not control the voltage. That is only controlled by the VID level, and the voltage value is just a label to make it easy to use. So what you got is 1.00V is supported and 1.03V but not what you have tried.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v4.6 software and got feedback? - 2008/10/01 12:45For the GeForce 9600M GT version with DDR2 memory nothing changed. Still no integrity or changes. Picking up GeForce 9600M GT from the list doesn't give any results.

So we will see to get it included in the next version. And again it would be nice if you guys finally start realizing this is more work than you think and we do need funding somehow, so please visitors our advertisers especially the one with the pricings or consider to make some donations.

Well that is all a bit strange, and not so logic at all. But unless I don't have your laptop I can't do what I want to do to see where the issue might be. Then again if the flash did go through correctly and you backup again the BIOS it should show the clocks as you changed them. And again increased of 0.01V are not possible, see logic explained above.
