Re:Nowhere to be found BIOS for Sapphire Radeon X1550 board? - 2008/08/15 11:08 Hey all, I have here my frined's ATI card which is a Sapphire Radeon X1550 with 256MB DDR2 memory on PCI Express with passive cooling and I am trying to find the firmware for it to flash. But it seems that no one has that firmware. So can anyone help me with this please? I am ready to try different manufacturers firmware. The video card's problem is when started some black horizontal lines appers, obviously overheated. If I do not find this file the card is going to the trash. Please to be excused for my English. It is not my primary language.

Re:Nowhere to be found BIOS for Sapphire Radeon X1550 board? - 2008/08/15 15:51 Just a small warning as you are new, but we don't allow a discussion in the thread to post BIOS's, so you have to create your own, luckily I done that now. Mmm, and do you think somehow screwed up the BIOS? Or it just want bad and you don't know why?

Re:Nowhere to be found BIOS for Sapphire Radeon X1550 board? - 2008/08/18 07:47 I am sorry if I have done something wrong in the forums. About this BIOS. The ATI card has been used as it was bought until one day it started with this many black lines. So because I can not change any electronic part the only possible solution is to try flash the firmware. But no one seems to have it. So the ATI card is one step closer to the trash, which is very close!

The BIOS doesn't do that from one day to the other, but most likely the cooling might not be as good as it should and some cards as such are failing after a while. What you should do is just remove the cooling and reapply with fresh thermal compound to see if that fixes the issue. The BIOS can't be the cause although many thing it is, well that is just a bedtime story.
