I can now boot to Windows with no graphical artifacts, however when I install the NVIDIA or Palit drivers I get a blue screen of death right before the logon screen when I start Windows XP 64-bit. I removed all my NVIDIA drivers with add/remove and with DriveCleaner and tried to install them again, but no luck. This seems to be a software issue, so it doesn't really belong here. The BIOS itself though seems to work fine.

My problem is this, I have an Inno3D GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB card that does not post. All the usual symptoms like black screen and Windows normally loading in the background. But the thing is that I have tried flashing the card with nvFlash v5.67 and all I get is the no NVIDIA adapters found on your system. If I plug the GeForce 8300 GS card it is recognized no problem, but the GeForce 8800 GTS is not. By the way, I was using blind flash, inbuilt graphics but always same result. Could someone kindly help me?

Cause I have been using a GeForce 8800 GTS in the past as was able to flash it just fine, but we only had older versions of nvFlash. Also make sure you do it from a bootable DOS media, like a floppy or USB stick and never from within Windows.

Could it be that I have unknowingly corrupted the BIOS of the card during one of my blind flash attempts? Or should even corrupted BIOS be recognized by the nvFlash? Also which version of nvFlash would you recommend, there are so many? And yes, I always booted from DOS bootable USB stick...

Re:GeForce 8800 GT, and any ways to edit out PCI Express 2.0!? - 2008/07/15 12:18That could indeed that by doing some blind flashes that you have corrupted the BIOS without really knowing and that can indeed cause that nvFlash is not able to recognize the card. And in that case there isn't much you can do with other versions of nvFlash, though some mainboard might still be able to recognize, mainly those with Intel chipsets.

I read a lot of pages and you said to post our backup BIOS here and you can modify to Gen1 for us. Well here it is, the option to change to Gen1 is grayed out for me in NiBiTor. I already tried four BIOS's before I hit your site and I am looking forward to your response. The only thing is that I don't have a VIA chipset or an ASRock mainboard. I have a MSI P45 Neo3. When I put a GeForce 6600 GT in it, it works fine. However, my Galaxy GeForce 8800 GT does not. The GeForce 8800 GT works fine in my old motherboard. I've tried almost everything. It's most certainly not a power issue as I have two power supplies that work with it.

So I doubt it has something to do with that. And what power supply do you have, cause the combination mainboard and graphics card can be the cause still somehow.

However I have verified that the GeForce 8800 GT works in my old mainboard and the GeForce 6600 GT works in my new mainboard. I have three power supplies. The one I am currently using is a Antec TruePower 430W. I also have a Antec 350W and a Superflower 450W that have no problems powering the GeForce 8800 GT in my old mainboard.
Also, I am going from a power hungry Intel P4 550 3.0GHz to an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400. I find it hard to believe that the power savings from this and from disconnecting all my hardware would require more power. Anyway, I have hooked up two power supplies to the same computer last night just to see if it was unlikely power issues. One powering the GeForce 8800 GT, the other to the mainboard. Exact same problem, which leads me to believe that it is the GeForce 8800 GT BIOS since the mainboard BIOS is the latest version.
